Lighting Deals - Holidays Period

Hi there fellow sellers,

Usually I always do have Lightning Deal recommendations, and as my sales have been increasing, I no longer have any recommendations.

Is it possible that this period of time requires higher tier requirements?

Also for Lightning deals for Black Friday week, is that specific to any category? (i.e. electronics only?), or is it available to all categories?

Regards

Yes, it’s totally normal for Lightning Deal recommendations to disappear even if your sales are growing, and it usually has nothing to do with your account and everything to do with timing.

Amazon tightens eligibility leading into major events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the December peak, and they raise the bar on required sales velocity, reviews, pricing history, and inventory levels, so lots of listings that normally qualify suddenly lose their recommendation badge for a few weeks.

That doesn’t mean you did anything wrong, it just means Amazon is filtering much harder to control deal quality and capacity. As for category restrictions, Lightning Deals during Black Friday week are open to most categories, not just electronics, but Amazon prioritises categories with strong traffic and low return risk, so some niches get shown deals more easily than others.

Once the peak deal window passes, recommendations almost always come back to normal levels.
