Launch of the EPR requirements policy for third-party sellers in Spain

Announcement reposted from Amazon:

We are notifying you of the launch of the EPR requirements policy for third-party sellers in Spain. The policy is in effect starting October 16, 2023.

The policy will impact you if you are a selling partner who is not established in Spain and sells EPR applicable products on amazon.es to customers with a shipping address in Spain, and you are considered a “Producer of Product” within the meaning of the Spanish Regulations.

The policy includes:

  • Steps Amazon will take if you fail to provide your EPR Registration Number
  • Clarification that Amazon does not assume EPR organizational obligations (waste prevention plans, eco-design, etc.)
  • Details about the Pay on behalf service fees and charges that appy in case Amazon is required to fulfill EPR obligations on your behalf
  • Clarification that Amazon is not acting as your authorized representative

If you do not want Amazon to declare and pay eco-contributions on your behalf, you must provide Amazon with your UIN(s) or stop selling EPR applicable products on Amazon.es.

For more information, please review the updated EPR requirements policy for third-party sellers in Spain. If you have questions, please reach out to Selling Partner Support.

Your continued use of Selling Services after the respective date of effectiveness constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
