Is this something I need to be wary of?

Hey everyone!

I came across some products to resell today, but most of the listings only have FBM sellers. When I check Keepa’s history going back over a year, I notice that there were a few FBA sellers on these listings in the past.

Should I be concerned about this? Is there a specific reason why there aren’t any FBA sellers now, aside from Amazon? I don’t see any signs of IP issues on Keepa, and the data and graphs seem fine!

Is it a big item? Are you enrolled in dangerous goods?

It’s likely that the reason you’re only seeing FBM sellers is because the product is classified as hazmat. Hazmat products have stricter requirements for FBA, and many sellers avoid dealing with the labeling and shipping regulations.

Also, you’ll probably need to upload a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to Amazon to get it approved. You can check if the ASIN is hazmat or has any FBA limitations in the Seller Central.

I had the same. It turned out it wanted this one item in a separate pack group which made it uneconomical to send. So I sold it FBM.

Check if the product is hazmat. This might be reason for mostly FBM sellers.

Aftershave / perfume.

Oh yes for a long time. Find it strange how there is no FBA sellers as it’s a small item, and doesn’t look like any IP’s ect.

Not hazmat either.

It can happen. If you did the IP checks and are sure that there is no risk of IP issues, then go for it.

I don’t sell such items but surely a aftershave is hazmat?
