Is this normal?

I sold 4 units of one product for a total of $75.96.

Amazon charged:

  • $20.87 in Pick & Pack (Fulfillment) fees

  • $11.40 in Referral fees

That’s $32.27 in total fees, or about 42.5% of my sales, which seems incredibly high.

What concerns me most is the Pick & Pack fee. Each unit weighs about 1 lb, so the entire shipment was only 4 lbs.

Does this seem normal, or is there something I might be missing? Has anyone experienced similar fulfillment fees?

There are apps that will show you all these fees ahead of time. Even free apps.

Yes that’s normal for FBA. 1 lb standard-size is ∼$5.32 pick & pack per unit, so 4 units = ∼$21. Referral at 15% = $11.40. Total ∼$32 = 42% of $75.96.

FBA fees look high on low-price, low-qty orders because the pick fee is per unit, not per order. Check if Amazon classed it as “oversize” and bumped the fee.

This is normal but dont worry Amazon will give you the new seller initiative so it will balance out apart from tht next time do FBM but use Amazons labels as Amazon has increased their charges quite a lot.

Whether this is “normal” really depends on the exact issue you’re referring to, but many situations that seem unusual on Amazon are actually caused by automated systems, delayed updates, or backend reviews rather than a problem with your account.

Sellers frequently experience temporary inconsistencies with listings, inventory, payments, or account features that resolve after the relevant team completes its review. If the issue has persisted for more than a few days or is preventing you from selling, it is worth opening a case and asking for it to be escalated to the appropriate specialist team rather than relying on standard frontline support.

If you can share the specific error message or a screenshot, it will be much easier for other sellers to determine whether it is expected behavior or something that requires further action
