Is there anyone here who has transferred their Amazon seller account from an individual account under their own name to a company account where the company owner is a different person?

Is this possible to do safely, at what stage can it be done, and how big are the risks involved? Could this potentially lead to account verification issues or suspension?

I’ve read a lot about it but reading is one thing, and live experience is far more useful in this case

I’m based in Spain, and the taxes/accounting costs for small businesses here are quite high, so I’m exploring possible ways to optimize the business structure from the beginning

Transferring amazon seller account to a company with different ownership involves risks of suspension or verification issues, so it’s better if the company owner is a different person. Make a new seller account in the name of this person with the company details.

Yes, it’s possible in some cases, but I’d be very careful if the company owner is a different person because Amazon may treat it like an ownership/control change, not just a business-info update. The biggest risks are verification mismatch, beneficial owner checks, tax/VAT document issues, and temporary account review if the documents don’t align perfectly. I’d suggest speaking with an Amazon account specialist or accountant in Spain before doing anything, and only make changes when all company papers, bank details, tax/VAT info, ID documents, and ownership structure are fully ready. Better to structure it correctly from the start than trigger a verification problem later.

I’ve seen people do it, but it needs to be handled very carefully. Amazon is extremely sensitive when ownership, tax info, bank details, or legal entity changes don’t match the original account history. The safest route is usually creating the company structure first before scaling heavily. Midway transfers can trigger re-verification requests and, in some cases, suspensions if documents aren’t perfectly aligned. I’d strongly recommend getting advice from a Spain-based Amazon accountant or compliance expert before making the switch.

A Big NO!, you’ll end up in infinite loop of identity verifications, every single thing must be on ur name if your id was provided for registration. Better to change ownership of LLc or file a new LLC on ur name, it doesn’t cost much

Amazon does not officially “transfer” accounts, changing from individual to a company with a different owner can trigger verification checks, fund holds, or even suspension if details don’t match.

Safest option is usually to create a new seller account under the company instead of changing ownership of an existing one.

The earlier you make this move, the safer, Amazon scrutinizes ownership changes on established accounts and it can trigger verification reviews or suspensions.

Get proper legal and Amazon-specific advice before touching anything. The tax savings aren’t worth risking a healthy account.

Yes it’s possible but not risk-free. Amazon may treat it as a major change and trigger full verification, sometimes even suspension if details don’t match perfectly.

Best practice is to set up the company from the start or do the change early before scaling. Many sellers avoid transferring an active account because of the risk and instead open a new company-based account.

Transferred an account for a client last year. Amazon checks everything: business docs, bank statements, who actually owns the new entity. One mismatch and they freeze the account.

Spain VAT has to stay consistent throughout or you get a separate headache on top.

Most people rush the document prep and that’s where it goes wrong.

Yes, it has been done, but Amazon considers changes in ownership and legal entity as high-risk updates, especially when the new company owner is a different person. The main concern is that Amazon may interpret it as an account transfer, which can trigger a full verification review or even suspension if the documentation is inconsistent. Most problems happen when the legal entity, tax details, bank account, and primary owner are all changed at the same time. From what many sellers have experienced, it is safer to make these changes early before the account has significant sales history or brand activity. Since you’re based in Spain and looking for tax efficiency, many sellers prefer setting up the correct company structure first so the Amazon account stays aligned from the beginning and avoids compliance issues later.

Yes it’s possible but it must be done carefully with proper documents and tax details.

Many sellers do it after forming a company wrong info or sudden changes can trigger verification reviews.

Yes, many sellers do it, but it can risk verification checks or suspension. Safest early, with full legal docs and tax updates.
