Is it better to ship in smaller shipments a few times a week or one big shipment once a week?

Asking about FBA.

Many thanks!

You need to evaluate your costs for shipping in the two scenarios you have given and decide which is best for you. No 2 sellers are the same.

IMHO, I believe that FCs make fewer mistakes with smaller shipments but this could be false.

Asking with restock limits in mind. I am trying to get a good score for inventory replenishments.

Sales velocity dictates your shipping size and frequency. However, there isn’t really any scenario that makes sense to do several small shipments a week, because the shipping fees and placement fees, as well as your stock levels fluctuating, affect your ranking and the algorithm. Larger shipments are usually better for FBA for maximizing profitability.

I don’t agree personally although it may suit your situation. However your statement “Sales velocity dictates your shipping size and frequency” hits the nail on the head.

It depends on your sales velocity, prep center capacity, and how Amazon handles your inbound shipments, but generally speaking, smaller shipments a few times a week can help maintain consistent inventory levels, reduce the risk of stockouts, and improve IPI scores if managed well—especially for fast-moving products. However, larger weekly shipments tend to be more cost-efficient in terms of prep, shipping, and labeling if your volume justifies it and you have reliable forecasting. Many sellers find a hybrid approach effective: smaller, more frequent shipments for bestsellers and one consolidated weekly shipment for the rest.
