Is it already time for meltable products being allowed into Amazon FBA?

Is it too early to send in chocolate advent calendar’s to USA market please?

Caution required here. They are meltable products which means you can’t send them until 16th October. And you need to mostly sell by December 1st as that is when they “start” We used to do them and aren’t this year, it’s too stressful and everyone panics and price cuts later in November.

Too early!

Thanks, that’s what I thought, I would be left with them sold at a loss.

Overall, we’ve made a bit of profit from them, but they are quite large, and the freight and FBA costs are high. By the time they are booked in, the sales window is too short. For what we invested, the return wasn’t worth it. Amazon also ‘found’ some in April this year that we had sent last year.

Do you have the food facility registrations number and a FSVP agent? FDA is cracking down.

When exporting food to the USA, you must ensure your labels comply with FDA regulations, register your manufacturer’s facility with the FDA and provide the Food Facility Registration number, identify an FSVP agent (Foreign Supplier Verification Program) to oversee food safety checks with your foreign supplier, and have a robust food safety plan in place to guarantee the safety of your products throughout the supply chain.

Alternatively, you could try to fly under the radar, as many do, but you risk facing substantial fines and a potential ban on importing to the US, which could obviously devastate your business.
