This is my first order, so let me get this straight. I’m paying for shipping from my supplier to me, then shipping fees from my house to a fulfillment center, plus $40/month for storage fees, and a percentage of each unit sold to Amazon.
On top of that, there are these ‘prepping and labeling’ fees. It doesn’t feel like I’ll be left with much profit.
Can someone clarify if the fees shown here include the percentage that Amazon will charge me per unit sold, or if this is paid upfront and then again each time I sell an item?
RA/OA is definitely the best way as a start off with small capital and also label your self yes it’s still a cost but at least over a long period it’s a saving I’m 1 month in and still currently running at a loss when I take all my costs in but that should change once my next shipment goes in and starts selling but again once I purchase more stock will go back into a loss hopefully each time it will be less
There are people who have figured out how to make a lot of money selling FBA. So if they can do than so can you and I. I’m just starting out too. I dont expect to make a profit straight out but I’m not going to give up just because other people here failed. This first go round will just be a learning experience. Set some goals and learn EVERYTHING you can about the business. I do agree that it is mostly about finding the right product with the right profit margin. Do NOT invest in your next product until you’ve done a ton of research first. Good luck and don’t give up.
Putting on my own labels, does that mean I have to package each Individual unit In box, ready to ship to the coustomer, or would Amazon still do that part. because otherwize… where will I putting said lable, directly on the item?
There are LOTS of unexpected costs that will eat away, if you don’t have upfront capital to try this, then it’s very risky. I quickly wracked up 10k in debt from just couple months being live. Money coming out of my account was consistent VS money coming in.
Your success will depend on:
Product, competitiveness of market, images and video quality, PPC strategy, BUDGET
They just make it sounds so easy, “you don’t need a lot to start, you can start by selling just 1 product…”
Yeah sure you can… if you wanna be in the negative for 5 years!
I had a decent budget to start but it sounds like it’s very “hit or miss” with these products so I don’t feel like investing it all on products at the chance they MIGHT sell… is very smart …
Bro Amazon take toooo much that’s why I gave up my accountant was asking me 3€ per bill too lol tf everybody take 5-6€ off me everytime it was like i sell 15€ item amazon take 9€
Accountant take 3€ alright I have 3€ left but state take 21% of 15€
You should send the products directly from supplier to amazon to avoid unnecessary costs… Do your due diligence for the product research such as not too heavy, not seasonal but things that people will be buying all throughout the year… Yes FBA you will have to spend lots of money upfront but when you start making sales, cost of advertising and FBA fees, among others will be covered. When calculating your selling price, make sure you consider the cost of shipping, the fulfilment fees, and cost price and your profit margin. It depends how much money you are ready to invest at the beginning and then keep going. There are products that will be the winning ones, others will fail. If need be, take a good coach to help you along the way. Am not saying it is going to be easy but if you put your mind to it and don’t quit when things get tough, you will make it
I thought about this too, but then I considered the preparation. Seller Central specifies that each item needs to be individually packed with no sets to be made. For example, if your products come in sets of 2 pieces, they will not be putting them together in the package.
When I reviewed my order from the supplier, it was all separate, meaning I have to put the sets together. So, how would that work out?
