Is beauty category good for a newbie?

Hello everyone,

I am going to open my Amazon Seller Central account (USA) in the coming week, as I have completed the LLC requirements, etc. For the past few months, I have been working in the beauty category and have found some authentic suppliers. I also have some authentic toy distributors, but the products have high BSR.

I have heard from many in the community and from experienced sellers that I should completely avoid the beauty category since I will have a completely new account, which might cause issues with authenticity and verification. I understand that I will learn about gated or ungated products after setting up the Seller Central account and listing the products.

I would appreciate your valuable feedback on this issue.

Thank you.

Don’t go into beauty unless you have brand approval and secondly don’t go in products with high bsr should have at least average sales.

Can I go with BSR in the range from 50,000 to 60,000 in toys categories?

Not recommended, but if you need brand approvals, let me know.

But what if we are buying from an established supplier? Beauty products have good profit margins.

Beauty products are very risky, and if you have brand approval, then I would recommend proceeding.

It’s great that you’re ready to open your Amazon seller account! Starting with the beauty category can be challenging for new accounts due to authenticity and verification issues, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the gating process. If you’re concerned, you might want to consider starting with products from categories that have fewer restrictions or focus on building up your account’s credibility first.
