Is anyone looking to start selling in Ireland?

Do you think residents of Ireland will shop frequently on Amazon? How do you currently place orders from Amazon UK? Is it expensive after factoring in all the fees, shipping, etc.?

What are your thoughts on having Amazon in Ireland?

They also have the whole of Europe to shop from. Don’t forget you are still subject to the endless regulations and policies.

I do get orders from Ireland as Amazon won’t let you stop that.

Not sure what you mean by that. If you are UK based and I’m sure other countries, you can switch off Ireland, no problem.

This will make the experience of Irish shoppers much better although their choice will be limited as many UK sellers (including myself) will not sell on amazon.ie. Some shoppers may search amazon.co.uk for the items they can’t find on .ie but my guess is that they will look at .ie first.

Irish buyers can still order directly through the UK site. I wonder how many will go for the new Ireland site instead.

Keep in mind that there may be import fees when buying from UK directly and delivering to Ireland. Having a dedicated Amazon in Ireland would likely reduce costs, improve delivery times, and make more products available locally, making it a welcome change for many shoppers.
