Is Amazon going to accept online bank statement for Section 3 verification?

I contacted Amazon after sending in new stock, and they claimed my product was expired. I document all product names, sizes, and dates, so I disputed the expiration date and provided the correct one. I also questioned why the ledger report initially showed the product as expired but later marked it as sellable. They responded that there was nothing they could do since the product had already been destroyed. I told them I felt like I was being treated unfairly, as this wasn’t the first time it had happened, but that was the end of the conversation.

Then, three hours later, I was hit with a Section 3 (which I’m sure was just a coincidence). When selecting products, I use SellerAmp and Amazon, checking brand details, sellers, the number of sellers, graphs, and much more. I reviewed everything thoroughly but couldn’t find any issues with the ASIN they’re questioning.

Now, I have to do the interview, and they’re asking for a bank statement. I use online banking and go paperless, so I can provide the statement, but I won’t have a physical copy during the interview. Will that be a problem? Any other advice before I proceed?

Before interview:

  1. Prepare proof of product authenticity.

  2. Gather any relevant documentation.

  3. Review Amazon’s policies and guidelines.

  4. Be honest, cooperative, and concise.

  5. Ensure a stable internet connection and proper lighting.

Regarding bank statement:

If you only have a digital copy, provide it and explain your paperless banking during the interview.

That’s rough. Amazon can be really unpredictable with these things, and it’s crazy how they flagged you right after the expired stock issue. Sounds like you’ve been really thorough with your checks, so I get why this is frustrating.

For the interview, as long as your bank statement is clear and accessible digitally, you should be fine. Have you ever dealt with a Section 3 before, or is this the first time? I know some sellers who’ve gone through it, and it seems like Amazon is just getting stricter lately.

Ok, thank you for the advice I really appreciate it.

Absolutely no this is my first time and yes very frustrating… I feel like I’ve been very careful and learnt as much as I could to try and avoid this but got hit anyway.

Amazon generally accepts online bank statements for Section 3 verification as long as they are official, unaltered, and include your name, address, and bank logo. Ensure the document is downloaded as a PDF directly from your bank’s website rather than a screenshot. If your statement is missing key details, some banks allow you to request a stamped or signed copy, which could strengthen your case. For the interview, be prepared to explain your sourcing methods, how you verify authenticity, and how you ensure compliance with Amazon’s policies. If they flagged a specific ASIN, avoid speculation and focus on demonstrating your due diligence when selecting and purchasing inventory. If the suspension is linked to the expired product issue, mention that you followed proper documentation procedures and highlight any inconsistencies in Amazon’s handling of the case. Keep your answers clear, concise, and professional.
