Is Amazon dead for us smaller sellers or how are yall shifting?

Amazon has literally blocked a lot of brands. I was ungated on almost everything you could think of and now they ungated.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. It’s like Amazon keeps moving the goalpost. I’ve had to switch things up recently just to keep things going. It’s been a learning curve for sure.

Are you thinking of sticking it out or looking at other platforms too?

Amazon definitely feels tougher for smaller sellers now, especially with the increasing number of brand restrictions, ungating reversals, and tighter scrutiny on invoices and supply chains, but it’s not dead.

Many sellers are shifting their strategies by moving from retail and online arbitrage into wholesale using authorized distributors, applying for brand approval with stronger documentation, or transitioning into private label where they control the listing and brand.

Some are also focusing on underserved niches, bundles, or products under lesser-known brands that are still ungated and profitable. It’s frustrating when you’re ungated and then blocked again, but staying adaptable, building better sourcing relationships, and possibly registering your own brand can keep you competitive. The game has changed, but sellers who evolve with it are still thriving.
