I'm looking for some information on the new service tax through Amazon

  • Is it applied to every sale?
  • Is SAS incorporating it?
  • Is STK accounting for it as well?

I haven’t seen many people discussing it.

There is a help page on Amazon you can check.

There’s been some discussion in the Amazon forum.

Essentially nothing changes as Amazon have been hiding this charge in the usual fees. Now they have deducted it from their fees and adding it as a separate tax.

It is a tax that Amazon should be paying but being Amazon, they are making the sellers pay. It’s applied to every sale.

No idea what SAS and STK are, sorry.

SAS is not incorporating it. This fee doesn’t have any impact on your profits. Amazon has introduced a digital services fee, which is 2% of the FBA and referral fees; at the same time, they’ve reduced the FBA and referral fees to accommodate this digital fee. As a result, Amazon’s payout is almost the same before and after the introduction of this fee. For example, the referral fee for most categories was previously around 15.3% of the selling price; now Amazon has reduced it to 15%. Additionally, if the FBA fee for an item was previously $2.36, it is now reduced to $2.31. Therefore, this 2% digital fee on FBA and referral fees has no major impact on profits.

It’s a popular software used by wholesale, FBA online & retail arbitrage sellers. It seems like arbitrage is already over after the recent gating of all the most popular brands.

SAS - SellerAmp SAS
STK - SellerToolKit
