Purchasing an account now and facing issues tomorrow is not ideal. It’s better to create your own account. It might give you a little tough time initially, but you won’t face any issues like:
- You don’t need to bear the owner’s attitude.
- You don’t need to prove every sale to Amazon. If the previous owner has done anything suspicious, it will cause problems for you.
- You don’t need to face verification issues. There are many factors, and finding the right person for a trade is very difficult.

How does buying an account work?
I have a 2nd account under my wife’s name which is no longer in use but I don’t see how you can legally sell an account with no repercussions.
Is buying that easy? I mean all the old documents from the account are from anohter business then.
I’ve always read that this was strictly forbidden by Amazon.
I may be wrong. Sounds logical though: all the great feedback would be deceit to prospective buyers.
I think Amazon would notice (ISP etc) and immediately close this account. With a violation warning. You might then have trouble even creating your own account after that, or being on extra watch for a while.
You can’t sell an account, but you can sell a business. If you purchase a company with a selling account, then it’s fine to take over it as well.
They will let you update the account ownership on Amazon EU sites anytime. On the US site, you can update your LLC details if you purchased a business with a selling account.
