It can work, but I’d confirm a few things first before sending the payment:

  1. whether the distributor accepts debit cards at all

  2. whether there are extra bank / FX / processing fees

  3. whether the card limit is enough for the transaction

  4. whether the invoice and payment record will stay clean and consistent

Usually the biggest issue is not the card itself, but unexpected fees, failed payments, or mismatched payment records.

If it’s a larger amount, I’d personally double-check with both the distributor and the bank first.
