I noticed something interesting today with one of our competitors

It seems like they are changing their storefront name every couple of weeks, which caught my attention. I’m curious about why they might be doing this. Could it be a strategy to avoid negative reviews, manipulate search algorithms, or maybe even an effort to rebrand frequently? Has anyone else observed something like this, and what do you think could be the potential reasons or advantages behind it?

The only reason why anyone would do this is if someone shared their storefront name somewhere, and they wish to prevent getting found / targeted.

Sadly, Amazon is a cut-throat platform where it is not safe to share your storefront name even with friends or family.

I learned it the hard way.

Wow @Kika , this is so sad.

Don’t worry, I didn’t have any issue with my family. The issue was with rival discussion forum advisors seeking to harm me in my case.

But from working with sellers whom I assisted with appealing suspensions, there were all sorts of issues related to family members placing orders from someone’s store in good faith, wishing to surprise them with positive reviews for their newly launched products, only to cause damage to their account instead. But there were also issues with divorced / separated couples or families with messy relationships.

I think that on Amazon the rule #1 should be keep your stores for yourself, same with eBay.

But isn’t it negative for his storefront too? If he keeps changing his store name, loyal customers won’t be able to find him, and the Amazon algorithm will get messed up.

Nope, if you’re not doing PL, it won’t matter as customers are not loyal to a storefront - but rather to the listing and whoever is in the BB will get the sale.

Sometimes people do it to study which store front works, and to offer different discounts like Black Friday, Cyber Monday etc.
