Hey guys,
I’m still getting the Buy Box, but even when I have it, the sale goes to another seller.
Could this still be related to low inventory levels, or am I possibly doing something wrong?
I made a test purchase — 3 products, 15 units each.
Right now, I have:
14,
2,
and 13 units left.
Based on my forecasts, each of these products was supposed to sell 20+ units per month.
If you still technically hold the Buy Box but sales are going to another seller, it’s usually an issue of how Amazon routes orders rather than a problem with your listing setup.
The most common reason is inventory distribution, if your stock is low or stored in only one or two fulfillment centers, Amazon may award you the Buy Box on the listing page but actually fulfill the order from another seller whose inventory is closer to the customer, especially for Prime orders. This can also happen when you have fewer than 15 units left, as Amazon’s algorithm sometimes throttles sales to prevent stockouts.
Another factor could be delayed updates between Buy Box ownership and order attribution in your reports. To confirm, check the “Detail Page Sales and Traffic” and “Fulfilled Shipments” reports to see if your conversion rates align with the times you held the Buy Box. If the mismatch persists, you can try restocking to stabilize inventory levels across multiple fulfillment centers, since consistent availability and geographic coverage usually fix these order-routing discrepancies.
