Do you recommend that when I purchase a brand product, I should ship it to my home first and use Amazon prep and shipping and send them to Amazon warehouse, or should I ship it directly to a 3PL service for labeling and packing and send them to Amazon warehouse?
Where did you purchase your product? China or the United States
If you purchase branded products from China or other suppliers, you can directly send them to Amazon, but usually I will send the goods to my own home and then check the quality and labels. If you trust your supplier enough, you can directly send the product to Amazon
If you are sourcing products from China, the most efficient approach is to have your supplier handle FBA prep and labeling at origin. After prep is completed, the inventory can be shipped directly to Amazon’s fulfillment centers.
This is the process I follow for my clients: I create the FBA shipment in Seller Central, generate carton and product labels, and share them with the supplier. The supplier applies the labels and ships according to Amazon’s requirements. This approach significantly reduces lead time and eliminates unnecessary double shipping costs.
The key is clear communication. Suppliers must fully understand Amazon FBA prep guidelines, but most experienced Chinese suppliers are already familiar with these standards, making the process smooth and scalable.
