I was entirely unaware of this order’s existence because it did not show up until this morning since it was stuck processing this entire time. Not only has this item been marked as “0” on my inventory count for over 24 hours, Amazon has marked this order on my selling page as “Overdue”.
This is the first possible day I can ship it. I ship my orders every single weekday. I just shipped all my orders yesterday. So the shipment is both late AND I will have to be cancelling it, both things of which are the fault of Amazon taking 3 days to process a payment.
Is this something I can contact them about? This is completely unfair.
Yes, I’d recommend contacting Seller Support and explaining the situation. If the order remained in Pending/Payment Processing status for several days, you couldn’t legally ship it until Amazon completed the payment verification and released the order. Be sure to mention that:
The order wasn’t visible as ready to ship while payment was pending.
You normally ship orders on time. The delay was caused by the payment processing period, not by a fulfillment issue on your side.
Ask Seller Support if they can review the late shipment impact, especially if this was an isolated case. While they don’t always remove performance defects, it’s worth requesting a manual review.
Going forward, it’s also a good idea to monitor pending orders regularly, although sellers can’t ship until Amazon authorizes the order.
