Since Amazon only allows two stores per seller account, is there a maximum number of items I can sell in each store?
If I have two stores under my seller account, can I create two different brands, one for each store?
If I’m selling clothing, costume jewelry, or baby products, is it better to list them as “Generic” or create a brand for them?
If I initially list my products as “Generic,” can I later change them to my own brand? Is it true that Amazon does not allow brand changes once a product is listed as “Generic”?
Not aware of this limitation. There is no limit to the items you can sell. Some sellers list 100s of 1000s
You can have different brands in each account but the products should be in different categories. But I have no idea why you would want to have different accounts. Just have one. Remember that if one account gets deactivated, they will all become deactivated
It’s generally best to have a brand, not generic
It can be difficult to change from generic to brand. Not impossible but if you persevere, you might achieve it. Start as you mean to go on.
Amazon does not impose a strict limit on the number of items you can sell in each store, but storage limits, category restrictions, and account performance factors may affect how much inventory you can list. If you have two stores under the same seller account, you can create two different brands, one for each store, as long as each brand meets Amazon’s brand registry requirements. For clothing, costume jewelry, and baby products, it is generally better to create a brand if you plan to establish a unique identity and potentially enroll in Brand Registry for protection and marketing benefits, but if you don’t have a brand or don’t want to register one, listing them as “Generic” is an option. Once you list a product as “Generic,” Amazon typically does not allow brand changes, especially for existing ASINs, unless you can provide strong evidence of brand ownership, such as trademark registration and manufacturer authorization, though some sellers have had success getting brand changes approved under specific circumstances.
No, there’s no limit to the number of items you can list in your store.
I didn’t quite understand what you meant by adding two stores.
You can build one brand and sell all these items under that brand name. To keep things organized, you can create separate categories in your store for clothing, costumes, jewelry, etc.
It’s nearly impossible these days to change a listing from “Generic” to a brand name. Amazon is not accepting brand name change requests at the moment, so I recommend listing the brand name from the start.
