A few questions: Amazon has approved some of my applications, but I am still unable to list those items because:
For one item, I was able to see myself ungated on the first day I was approved, but after some time, I found I was gated again, even though my application still shows as approved. When I called customer service, they said I could only list a few items for that brand. My question is: how will I know which ASINs I am approved to list? Customer service is asking me to check each and every ASIN for that brand, which is not efficient. I’m wondering if any experts here have suggestions.
For another item, the approval email says I am ungated for a category but doesn’t specify which category. They sent me a link, but it leads to an error page, so I am totally clueless. I tried a couple of ASINs related to the product I was approved for, and I am still gated.
So my question is: how can I find out which brands, ASINs, or categories I am ungated for?
You will never know which items you can sell and which not. Restrictions happen without a prior warning. You can be approved for a category / brand or specific ASIN and that approval can be withdrawn anytime.
That’s why I don’t think arbitrage / wholesale is viable and prefer private label.
Unfortunately, Amazon doesn’t provide a centralized list of all brands, categories, or ASINs you’re ungated for, which makes it difficult to track approvals.
For brand approvals, being approved doesn’t necessarily mean you can list every ASIN under that brand, Amazon may restrict certain variations or specific listings. The most reliable method is to search for the ASINs you’re interested in and click “Sell Yours”, if you’re ungated, it will allow you to proceed. If not, you’ll see a “Request Approval” button.
To speed this up, some sellers use tools like SellerAmp, Helium 10, or InventoryLab to bulk-check gating status across ASINs. For category approvals, the error in your email link may suggest a backend issue, open a case with Seller Support specifically requesting the exact category ID or ASINs approved in that application. Although tedious, this is the only way to confirm access until Amazon improves visibility.
