Please explain to me. I understand from this email that Amazon is forcing me to expand into other countries because I am registered with a professional selling plan. However, I do not want to sell Pan-EU or EFN, at least for the moment. If I drop this plan, what are the consequences?
I specify that I only sell in the UK and have blocked the sale of products to other markets, leaving it available only if Amazon buys from me.
Maybe I didn’t understand it well, or it’s just an Amazon program that I need to opt out of, and it won’t affect me in any way.
Is this matter so simple and I’m just overcomplicating it?
If you opt in, you will have to enroll in the VAT program of these countries, even if you might not make enough sales. This is due to the clause that requires mandatory VAT registration if you keep your inventory in these countries.
Amazon are terrible when it comes to doing things without your agreement. It’s actually scandalous. They assume that inaction means you agree so make sure you click on “Opt out from the programme here”.
If you only sell in the UK and have blocked other markets, you might not be affected by Pan-EU or EFN. Contact Amazon Seller Support if you are concerned about them enrolling you.
