I just created my account and was trying to sell something but almost every product, brand or category is gated.
Where should I start ?

You can hunt product in home and kitchen, office supplies, sports and outdoors, tools and home improvement, kitchen and dining, home and garden. These catagories are open

Start with ungated or less restrictive categories like books, electronics, or toys. Gradually build your selling history to request category ungating.

Yes you are right new accounts are gated to many brands so you just need to focus on ungated brands (small brands) and try to list as many products as possible even on breakeven and get full advantage of honeymoon period (period in which amazon gives you buy box more often) and maintain your sales pattern and once you achieve good sales momentum then automatically you will be ungated for many brands .
