I did not made any changes in seller central and today I received this email.
The address from VAT letter is matching the address from SC but they ask me to change it because it does not match.
Dear Seller,
We have noticed a discrepancy between the business address you have provided in Seller Central and the information in the tax records for your VAT Registration Number (VRN) ….
It is important that the business address on your Tax Settings page in Seller Central matches the information in the respective country’s tax database. This ensures compliance with our policies and allows you to participate in Amazon’s VAT-related programs. To resolve this issue, please click to the link below and make the required corrections by 25th September.
How do l identify the mismatch?
You should compare the address present on the confirmation of your VAT registration received from the tax authorities and the ones your provided in Seller Central.
I’ve received exactly the same message today. I thought it is a scam sent from: [email protected]. All my data already matches. Nothing has changed in years. Hopefully, it’s just a glitch.
Yes, I am aware that there have been so many new tax and legislative regulations changes coming into force recently. This is because of the rise in popularity of e-commerce and at the same time due to the pressure arising from the decline of traditional b&m industries.
It used to be possible to get a foreign VAT number for a business established in a different country. Now, you either have to get the IOSS registration OR the platform / marketplace itself will be responsible for the tax collection and disbursement to relevant authorities.
Due to the DAC7 legislation, platforms now bear the burden of ensuring that the correct VAT is paid or they can be liable to fines.
So many sellers were paying the VAT or declaring their establishment incorrectly in the past, so the governments are cracking down.
