Has anyone recently created a NEW Amazon seller account and been asked for a Letter of Authorization (LOA) during verification?

I’m a sole proprietor, so I’m a bit confused about this step.

Amazon is asking me for an LOA, but since I’m the legal owner myself, I’m not sure whether I need to write an LOA authorizing myself, or I am missing something?

If anyone has gone through this recently, what did you do?

Any guidance would be appreciated!

Yes it’s a new thing. The company should authorize yourself to open a seller central account. You can generate a loa with ChatGPT easily.

Yes, I have created last month and they asked for letter of authorization during signup process. I’ve generated it with chatgpt within minutes and submitted, it was accepted by Amazon. If you need sample, you can drop me a text in private.

Amazon asks for an LOA when they want proof that you’re authorized to sell a brand or product. Since you’re the legal owner, you can write a simple self-LOA stating you are the owner and have permission to sell your products. Make it short, on your letterhead if possible, with your signature and business details.

Did Amazon specify which brand or product they want the LOA for?

It is a legal requirement, but sounds stupid to be asked in the sole proprietor scenario.

Basically you authorise yourself to be the legal representative for the sole proprietor legal entity (if you can be called an entity).

From the business to the individual to manage the business.

You might have to print, sign, and upload.

Ask chatgpt for help drafting it.
