Hi everyone!
I wanted to ask if anyone else has gone through this.
Amazon asked me for a Proof of Address for my LLC, but they rejected my document because it was under my personal name instead of the business name.
I don’t have a business bank account, I’ve been using my personal account for everything.
Also, my LLC only has the registered agent address, so I don’t have any bills or statements with that address.
This happened on Amazon Canada, even though I haven’t started selling there yet (the account is just active).
I sell on Amazon USA, and I haven’t had any problems there.
What kind of document did you send that Amazon finally accepted?
Thanks so much for any advice
Yes, that’s a pretty common issue, especially when the LLC doesn’t have its own utilities or bank account yet. Amazon Canada’s verification process is stricter than the U.S., and they’ll only accept proof of address that clearly shows your business name and the same address listed in your Seller Central account.
The best workaround is to open a business bank account for your LLC, even an online one, and submit the first bank statement showing both the business name and address. If that’s not possible, you can try using your LLC’s Articles of Organization or Certificate of Formation, but only if it includes the full registered address.
Some sellers have also had success with an accountant’s letter or a lease agreement in the LLC’s name. If your registered agent’s address is the only one on file, Amazon will still need proof that your LLC operates from that location, so ask your agent if they can issue a confirmation letter stating the address is used for your company’s official correspondence.
Don’t send documents in your personal name again, Amazon almost always rejects those for LLC accounts. Once you upload something that exactly matches your business info on record, the verification usually clears within a few days.
