I wanted to share an issue I’ve been facing with Wise. They closed my account over a month ago and have been holding my funds which are over $30,000
The last email I received from them was on August 29 asking for my bank details for the transfer. I provided my personal bank details but it’s been over a month and they still haven’t transferred the funds or responded to any of my emails.
It happened to me last year. However, I was in constant contact with them through emails, and I got my balance in Wise refunded to my Pakistani account. But you need to figure it out before your account gets blocked. Was your total balance in a personal or business Wise account? If it was in a business account, they may not be able to refund it to your personal Pakistani account. They might need another account in the same name as your Wise business account.
If you don’t have another account, you can explain your situation to them and ask for the refund to be sent to your Pakistani bank account.
This is actually fairly common with wise especially if you are from overseas. Their support is terrible when these things arise. I always transfer my money outta there.
I faced this issue and contacted them through Twitter. After that, they reactivated my account, and I got my funds. One of my client’s accounts was deactivated, but he only got his money back. So don’t worry, Wise always takes time to send money, but they will do it. You should contact them directly through Wise to help speed up the process.
I’ve never heard of anyone else in a similar situation, but since they asked for a bank account, they should send the money at some point. Did they give you a time frame?
