Gating issue

In late October, we were suddenly hard gated from an important brand. I’ve opened multiple cases, called Seller Support and Account Health numerous times, sent multiple emails, etc, and nothing seemed to move the needle whatsoever. However, I just received this today. Has a glimmer of hope finally appeared?

"Hello from Amazon Brand Registry Support,

We understand your concern about the restrictions in selling products under the brand: XXXXXXXX.

Our aim is to provide the best possible shopping experience in our store. As such, we have placed listing restrictions on certain products. These restrictions are based on a number of factors to ensure a good shopping experience for customers.

Please note that this is not permanent and Amazon periodically update the seller’s list. While we do not have a specific date when we expect these listing restrictions to be lifted, these listing restrictions are intended to be temporary in nature.

If an application becomes available to sell this product, you will see a Request Approval button next to the product in the Add a Product feature in Seller Central.

We appreciate your understanding and support."

This is a template response they’ve been sending for months.

You will just need to decide whether to keep waiting and paying storage fees or cut your losses and start liquidating.

Just the standard reply from Amazon.

Please look closely. I’ve received dozens of responses and have never seen this exact wording. It specifically states that this is NOT permanent and that my situation is intended to be temporary. Previous communication had always indicated that it MAY be temporary, huge difference. This latest message demonstrates that we will be able to sell the brand again.

It’s difficult to predict which direction Amazon will take, so the options are likely similar.

This has become the standard response since the mass gating.

If it’s only a few units, waiting might be fine, but if it’s thousands of units, storage fees can start to add up.
