For months l've been trying to create my first Amazon shipping label for my item after FINALLY getting my item approved but l keep receiving errors

Problem 1: I need to change my condition from New to NewOem but it’s locked and greyed out which is why they think it’s causing the issue. Amazon wants me to start over with the listing and select proper condition but that means I have to pay for GS1 again for a new bar code. I also don’t want to do this because it took months to approve this one listing. I cant start over.

Problem 2: I’m having trouble getting Amazon to approve my product in other 2 color options. They only approved 1 color.

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially after waiting months for approval. Having the condition locked and greyed out is a known glitch, sometimes trying a different browser or clearing cache can help, but if Amazon’s official answer is to restart the listing, that’s a tough pill to swallow. Paying for another GS1 barcode just isn’t fair.

For the color variants, have you tried contacting seller support again? Sometimes a different rep can unlock the option.

If you keep getting errors when trying to create your first Amazon shipping label after your item was finally approved, the issue is usually related to one of a few common setup problems rather than the product approval itself.

In many cases, new sellers run into errors because the SKU configuration, barcode preference, shipping template, or fulfillment settings were not fully configured correctly during listing creation. Sometimes the listing is technically approved, but Amazon still has backend issues with the SKU, barcode assignment, or fulfillment conversion, especially if the product was switched between FBM and FBA or edited multiple times.

Sellers also commonly see errors when the shipment plan contains missing dimensions, invalid prep settings, hazmat review delays, or unsupported carrier/shipping combinations. One thing worth trying is deleting the shipment plan completely and recreating it from scratch rather than continuing to edit the broken one, because Amazon shipment workflows sometimes become corrupted internally.

Also double-check that your product dimensions, package weight, barcode settings, and prep category are fully completed and that the SKU is correctly linked to FBA rather than FBM. If the error persists across multiple browsers and shipment recreations, it usually means the ASIN or SKU itself needs manual review by Seller Support or the FBA team to correct a backend catalog or fulfillment issue.
