First time using DPD

I need to choose DPD to deliver a few boxes to Amazon, and this is my first time using DPD. Is it the same process as UPS, where you just print the box labels and drop them off at a DPD location?

The last time I printed box labels for DPD and left them at a drop-off point, the cashier said the labels weren’t correct. Also, do I pay the cashier at drop-off, or does Amazon deduct the cost? With UPS, it shows how much you’re being charged, but I don’t see anything like that when choosing DPD.

You choose DPD when creating the shipment and then you book labels and pay using your DPD account or whichever way you have decided, for example, via a reseller.

Amazon won’t supply you with labels. And you have to enter the tracking details into the shipment yourself.

Any reason why you would want to choose DPD in preference to UPS? UPS can’t be beaten on price unless you are sending 1000s of parcels via DPD a week and they’ll collect from you free of charge.
