FBA inventory removed without stranded status alert

Hi,

has anyone experienced compliance-related listing removals where the inventory was removed/disposed immediately without showing as stranded first?

I also tried canceling the removal but it didn’t work.

Thanks!

Hello,

yes, this can happen with compliance-related removals, especially when Amazon classifies the issue as a safety, regulatory, or restricted product risk rather than a normal stranded inventory situation. In those cases, Amazon sometimes bypasses the usual stranded inventory workflow entirely and immediately places the units into disposal or forced removal status, which is why you may never see the normal stranded alert first.

Once the removal order is system-generated under certain compliance categories, cancellation often does not work because the inventory has already been routed internally for disposal processing.

The best thing to do is immediately check the performance notifications and any compliance or hazmat-related cases linked to the ASIN, because the reason is usually hidden there rather than in the stranded inventory section.

If the inventory still physically exists in the fulfillment center, sometimes support can escalate it and stop the removal, but once disposal processing has started, recovery becomes much more difficult, so acting quickly is critical.
