Based on my experience with Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) compared to Walmart’s Merchant Fulfillment and Amazon’s FBA, WFS offers greater profitability for several reasons. For instance, if your warehouse is located in New York and you get an order from California, FedEx is their cost-effective partner, but you’ll be charged accordingly. With WFS, my average fulfillment fee per product is around $4.50, with a referral fee of 11.25%. In contrast, the same product on Amazon incurs a fulfillment fee of $7 or even $8.
Another example is in bundled products—WFS charges $10.28, while Amazon’s fee is $14.28. To sum up, selling on Walmart can be up to 30% more profitable than on Amazon. However, Walmart doesn’t have the same volume of sales. In my experience, for every 15 units I sell on Amazon, I manage to sell 1-2 on Walmart. It’s worth noting that I don’t use any software for this. I just ship to Walmart whatever I’ve purchased on Amazon, packaging a few cases together in a mixed pallet.
