Help please? I purchased UPC codes, but when I attempt to enter them while listing, I receive the following error message. What might be the cause of this issue? This is OA for FMB.
Error 8572 on Amazon usually means that the UPC you’re trying to use is not valid or not recognized in Amazon’s catalog, which is often caused by one of three things:

you’re using a UPC that wasn’t purchased directly from GS1 (Amazon strongly prefers GS1-issued codes)

the code has already been used on another listing

or it doesn’t match the brand or product type Amazon expects for that category.
Since you mentioned this is Online Arbitrage for FBM, you typically shouldn’t need to enter a UPC manually if you’re listing against an existing ASIN, you should just match the product using the ASIN or product title and let Amazon populate the listing info. If you’re trying to create a new listing with a non-GS1 UPC, that’s likely the issue.
To resolve it, either purchase UPCs directly from GS1 or consider requesting a GTIN exemption through Seller Central for the brand and category if you’re not the brand owner.
