Announcement reposted from Amazon Spain:
The Spanish packaging laws set out the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for businesses that sell packaged goods to customers in Spain, including how to demonstrate compliance to online marketplaces. If you are not established in Spain, you must prove your EPR compliance to Amazon by submitting the packaging registration number for your products on the Compliance Portal.
If you don’t submit a valid packaging registration number to us by December 31, 2023, you’ll be enrolled automatically in our Pay on Behalf service for packaged goods sales in 2023 subject to the applicable program policy. It can take us five working days to validate your registration number, so we recommend that you submit your number as soon as you have it.
Under this service, Amazon will report and pay eco-contributions on your behalf for your sales on Amazon.es and will charge your seller account with a service fee and the eco-contributions that we will pay on behalf of your non-compliant sales on Amazon.es. The Pay on Behalf annual service fee is €24.99 + 3% of the eco-contributions paid on your behalf in each year for your packaged goods sales on Amazon.es. It does not include VAT, if applicable.
You’ll still be required to comply with all other applicable EPR organizational obligations, for example, regarding waste prevention plans and eco-designs.
