We get 99% positive feedback and on the rare negative we’ll definite respond approporiately. But what about positive? Is it good practice to thank a positive feedback that’s been left? I’m thinking that any potential buyer that does bother to look at feedback (I bet it’s pretty few in reality) would at least think we are on the ball.
I never leave a reply to positive feedback, I don’t see the point.
But it’s your choice. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong way. You can argue it either way.
Thanking customers for positive feedback can definitely be a nice touch! While it’s true that most buyers probably don’t spend much time reading feedback, those who do might appreciate seeing an active and engaged seller. It shows that you value your customers and take pride in your service, which could make a good impression. That said, it’s not strictly necessary, so if time is tight, you could focus your efforts elsewhere without much downside. But if you can, a quick thank-you is always a great way to build goodwill!
I agree with @AmazonUKForumRefugee. It’s a waste of time and your buyer’s are unlikely to see it. Amazon is way less personal than eBay.
To me, it definitely sounds like a good practice, rather than not.
But as others mentioned, buyers aren’t notified about your reply being left and aren’t usually looking up and reading seller replies to feedback.
Sometimes, I see a seller replying to every feedback on their wall. This indicates to me that they have rather a lot of time and are anxiously reviewing every single order they have and taking them personally. I never liked ordering from people like this, because I then imagine that they may be also looking up and Googling each buyer.
I remember frequently seeing forum threads where people complained that they received suspicious orders, for example an unusual quantity and then mentioned that they looked up the buyer, their house etc, trying to find out more….
There are people who don’t like having someone who only gets a few orders and who has the tiem to do this handling their orders.
Many of the bullies who targeted me on the forum had snarky, personal replies to negative feedbacks on their wall and endorsing replies to their positive feedbacks. These are exactly the types who will lookup a buyer’s house, workplace, education, Facebook profile etc out of personal obsession and lack of meaningful means to spend their time.
Hello Joel!
Previously, it doesn’t really matter. But with the launch of the COSMO algorithm, it does!

Interesting! Not heard about that, thanks
