Do you recommend using a professional email to set up my account, or is it okay to use a regular Outlook.com email?

Hello everyone,

I am new to selling on Amazon. At the moment, I am ready to create my Amazon seller account, which will be registered under my LLC.

Thank you for your help!

You can use any email address to set up your amazon account.

Thank you! So there will be no disadvantage for me when I sign up using regular provider as opposed to having my own domain?

To set up an Amazon seller account, I will highly recommend you choose a professional email rather than an Outlook or Gmail address because it has branding and credibility, but it’s okay to start with Outlook.

I don’t think the bots on Amazon care if you have a professional looking email address. Customers won’t see your email address.

If the question was “should I have a professional looking email for my business”, then I would agree.

The main consideration is to keep using the same email address, as changing details in future on your seller profile is a right pain. So from that point of view, an email that you won’t accidentally forget to renew the hosting of and therefore won’t change such as an outlook one might well be best. As AmazonUKForumRefugee says, it won’t make any difference to Amazon and isn’t visible.

In fact, Amazon does actually distinguish between seller who have a professional e-mail and those who don’t.

However, you are supposed to have a business website as the domain associated with your e-mail address.

If you have a private label brand, it makes sense to use an e-mail address belonging to the brand’s website.
