There are suggested product amounts while I am listing products on Amazon seller.
I have found that the quantities Amazon initially suggests are way too high so unless you have reason to believe that you will sell a lot straight away (eg heavy advertising or heavy demand), I would start slow.
Most sellers treat Amazon’s recommended replenishment amounts as a general guideline rather than a strict rule, because those suggestions are based on recent sales velocity and don’t account for seasonality, competition, or upcoming pricing changes.
It’s usually best to cross-check Amazon’s suggestion with your own sell-through data, profit margins, and cash flow before committing.
If the product sells steadily and storage fees are low, sending close to the recommended amount can help maintain stock and Buy Box consistency, but if it’s a slower or competitive ASIN, it’s safer to send smaller batches and restock more frequently to avoid long-term storage charges.
Many sellers use tools like SoStocked or Sellerboard to calculate optimal replenishment levels that factor in lead time, capital, and seasonality, rather than relying solely on Amazon’s automatic recommendation.
