Alright, I am currently selling on Amazon Australia and would like to sell in the US as well using the same account by selecting the US marketplace. I have completed the short tax interview and am allowed to sell, but I wanted to know if I can really sell as a non-US seller.
I have an Individual Professional account in the Australian market.
As an Australian, you can sell on the Amazon U.S. marketplace as an individual by filling out the W-8BEN form. This form allows you to pay taxes in Australia, where you live, and you might also need to report your earnings to the U.S., depending on your situation.
I’d recommend checking with a tax expert to make sure you’re covering all the bases in both countries! I can recommend a good accountant here in the U.S. who is knowledgeable about Amazon if you need one.
As an individual seller, you can start selling without forming an LLC. However, forming an LLC provides liability protection and may offer tax benefits and a more professional image.
