Disputing completed Alibaba order

I placed an order in March 2024 for 200 units on Alibaba from a verified 5-year Chinese supplier. I was unaware that he had modified the shipping date, and he only started shipping in June. He said the inventory was delivered to the USA in August, delayed due to customs clearance. In the meantime, my seller account was suspended due to inactivity.

Now that my account is reactivated, I’ve been messaging and calling him for the past 10-11 days, but he’s not answering. The order can’t be traced on Alibaba, and it shows as ‘completed.’

What should I do?

Did you buy insurance with Alibaba? If so, you need to file a report with the insurance company and also with the Alibaba management team.

You should contact Alibaba customer service immediately to report the issue. They may be able to help you track your order or resolve the dispute with the seller. You may also want to file a claim with your payment method provider, such as PayPal or a credit card company.

Yes, but it shows unable to track.

No. But I used Trade Assurance.

I’ve put about $50k through Alibaba and their customer support is pretty decent. We had a supplier ship us the wrong stuff and we got refunded completely on like $2700 in items.

Is it because your account is closed that the goods cannot be delivered to Amazon?

Is the tracking number they provide FEDEX or UPS?

Next time, you can use a professional freight forwarder for transportation.
