Dangerous goods shipments

Can someone elaborate as to why ALL of our dangerous goods shipments are going to BFI9 (Dupont Washington) when we’re North Carolina?

Literally costing us $60+/box to ship because its across the entire United States versus going to a closer FC.

It might just depend on your product and where highest demand for that product is. I have a few DG items that seem to always go there, too. I’m centrally located. I have others that go to Ohio and Mississippi.

Are you shipping one box at a time? If you ship multiple boxes at a time they seem more likely to split up the destinations. Doesn’t totally solve the problem but it’ll bring your average cost down.

I’m in Nj and getting BFI9 which is super annoying so I’m waiting a few days to see if that changes

That is weird. I ship it to closer destinations like CTL. And I’m in Pennsylvania.

Could be that BF19 is a specialized warehouse designed to handle dangerous goods. All of our jewelry went to a Midwest warehouse that was specifically designed handled jewelry.

Since you are on the East coast, try creating your shipments early in the morning. We shipped our inventory at the close of business in North Central Texas, so they were all directed to warehouses west of the Mississippi.
