Could someone clarify this for me?

Hello everyone,

I often hear sellers suggesting that we delete a listing once it becomes unavailable to avoid future complaints. At the same time, I also hear about sellers receiving IP or other complaints for ASINs they sold months and months ago.

Specifically, what is the purpose of deleting the ASIN?

Thanks

Hi @Zahid0, you’ll need to close the listing first! Just deleting will still result in potential account health issues down the line.

I feel like you are overcomplicating things instead of focusing on what’s important.

If you’ve sold out, just delete the listing, and that’s it.

Before buying any brand, simply check if it’s safe to sell.

That’s it, there’s no point in creating all sorts of scenarios that might never happen.

Deleting an ASIN is often recommended to minimize the risk of future complaints, such as intellectual property (IP) or product authenticity issues, for products you no longer sell. When a listing is deleted, it removes the connection between your seller account and that ASIN, reducing the likelihood of being held responsible for complaints or violations tied to it in the future. However, it’s important to note that deleting the listing does not erase your sales history or liability for past transactions, so keeping thorough records of invoices and documentation for all products sold is still crucial.

Thank you for your response. I understand your perspective, but my goal was to better understand the implications of deleting an ASIN versus keeping it active.

I appreciate your advice on checking brand safety beforehand. I was hoping to learn from others’ experiences to handle these situations better. Thank you again for sharing your input.
