Can I use my own barcodes instead of FNSKU?

I have a unique UPC I purchased for my product (private label custom product). I can just use that instead of FNSKU labels, right?

Are you sending it into the FBA? If so, you want the FNSKU on the packaging. The FNSKU not only does what a UPC does (identify the product) but it also identifies the seller of the product so that Amazon can attribute the item to you.

While you can technically use your unique UPC instead of an FNSKU label for your private label product on Amazon, it’s strongly recommended to use both; your UPC for general product identification and an FNSKU label for proper tracking within Amazon’s fulfillment centers when using FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) services, as the FNSKU is specifically designed for Amazon inventory management.

Some products are accepted by FBA with manufacturers barcode only but certain products require FNSKU. You have to check with Amazon if FNSKU is mandatory for your product.

FNSKU is needed for FBA shipments to link the product to your seller account.
