If someone no longer needs their Amazon account right now, is it possible for them to delete it and reapply in the future if they decide to start selling again?

I believe that you can but only if the original account is completely closed by Amazon, making sure that every single marketplace is closed. That account needs to be fully active in every marketplace before it can be closed. You should keep the confirmation from Amazon that the account is closed but even then, there could be difficulties if the account wasn’t properly closed by them.
Why would you want to close your account? Just make it dormant.

Yes, you can close it and reopen later when you need.

Keep the account. Just put it in vacation mode until you’re ready to use it again. You have to be verify everything when you come back, but it’s not your problem. In the past, it can’t have been completely closed could not be reopened.

Downgrade to an individual account, delete and close all listings, and disconnect any linked marketplaces like EU from your UK account to avoid any deactivation issues.
