Buying postage in bulk problem / question

Scenario 1: We buy our postage for say 100 orders in bulk. All are 2nd class standard. We tick all orders and check weight is correct under 100g and ensure ‘Selected delivery service’ states RM 2nd class. We then click ‘Select Label Print Orientation’ and select ‘5 in x 3.5 in PNG Default’ (this creates one pdf with all labels which we then print onto laser printer labels, (and we later print the packing slips on plain paper, separately.) That’s all great and works.

Scenario 2: Same as above however some orders are 2nd class standard, some require large, some require tracked. But if we repeat as above, selecting standard for some, and large for others, then click ‘Select Label Print Orientation’, there is no longer an option for printing ‘5 in x 3.5 in PNG Default’, only two options: ‘…with packing slips’; which we don’t want.

The only workaround we’ve found (don’t shoot me, I’m not trying to game the system, just get our labels printed) is to only select the 2nd standard orders and print packing slip, then repeat the process for the large orders. I don’t really understand why that is? What we’d like is to select ALL orders, click buy shipping in bulk, select postage type (either standard, large or tracked) for each order, and print the labels into one pdf in one go.

Please let me know what we’re doing wrong or could be doing differently!

One other issue- we don’t see Royal Mail Tracked (or any other courier’s tracked services) in the drop down. Can someone point to where in shipping settings these options are selected, or made available to select?

You need to have a RM Business Account linked to Amazon for that.

Thanks that makes sense. Any ideas regard the other question?

Sorry, I don’t buy postage in bulk. I mostly used Tracked 48 via Click & Drop.

Fair enough. Does that mean you indidually select Tracked 48 for each order then? I’m just trying to work out the most efficient way as I am sure our current isn’t!

Also once linked, where we are then invoiced? I find it pretty convenient to have postage substracted from my amazon balance but I’ve read recently that by linking an RM account I’d then be invoiced via RM?

Yes, individually. I weigh each item as they vary from piece to piece. It’s no hardship for 50 orders per day. C&D is so much better than Amazon. You can bulk buy from there if it suits you and the shipping rules work well.

If you link your account, you are billed by Royal Mail.
