Those doing private label FBA, do you obtain public liability insurance and how does this work?
If you’re purchasing and relabelling products do you obtain insurance to cover yourself if someone were to get hurt ?
This applies to all sellers on the Amazon platform.
Commercial Liability Insurance Policy
Under section 9 of the Amazon Services Business Solutions Agreement, you must obtain and maintain commercial liability insurance within 30 days after exceeding USD 10,000 in gross proceeds in sales in one month on Amazon.com, or if otherwise requested by Amazon.
The policy must cover all sales from products you have listed on the Amazon.com store.

I have liability insurance already but they have advised now it doesn’t actually cover you if someone hurts themselves and the product has been relabelled
It only covers if you manufacture the product yourself
A manufacturer might need additional insurance, but the Commercial Liability Insurance policy Amazon requires must meet a certain set of criteria; including:
2. The policy limit must be at least USD 1 million per occurrence and in aggregate, and cover liabilities caused by or occurring in conjunction with your business operations, including products, products/completed operations and bodily injury.
Your insurance company is saying the policy they have written doesn’t include Amazon’s criteria? @skeeter should be able to help.

In our case I just bought the insurance directly from an amazon approved provider. Some place related to the insurance they have some links. It is much easier and simpler to use amazon pre-approved provider. Our main insurance company even said to just buy it direct from amazon.
In typical amazon fashion they have made it extremely difficult to use your own company. That is by design, they are masters of manipulation and funneling people. This time I gave into the bullies and bought their plan.

Thank you both! After speaking to Seller Support, it looks like my policy is acceptable. I have submitted it, and everything looks good so far.
