Box volume does not meet the expected minimum cubic inch 9849.7

Hi all,

I got this warning trying to do my first shipment “Box volume does not meet the expected minimum cubic inch 9849.7”

My understanding is they are calculating the volume the box and calculating how many products i can put in the box. However, my products are not stiff, they are very flexible and bendable that is why i am able to add more than the “expected minimum cubic inch”

Any advice?

Ignore the warning and proceed further. I received the same error but created the shipment plan smoothly. You just have to click on the option “Dismiss the warnings”

Amazon is just checking the box volume based on your shipment plan and the product dimensions. That warning pops up because the system thinks your box is too small for the number of units you’re sending.

Since your products are flexible, it makes sense that you can fit more than what Amazon expects. A simple way to handle it is to double-check the box size and weight in your shipment plan, or split the shipment into smaller boxes. You can also contact Amazon Seller Support and explain that your items are bendable, they usually understand and approve it.

Have you tried submitting the shipment anyway, or are you planning to adjust the boxes first?

Ignore.

That warning happens because Amazon calculates box volume based on product dimensions and expects a minimum cubic inch for safe shipping. Flexible items can definitely fit more than the estimate, but Amazon flags it to ensure packages aren’t overstuffed.

You can usually ignore the warning if your items fit safely, or adjust the package dimensions in your shipment plan.

This warning appears when Amazon thinks the box is too small for the number of units you entered based on the product dimensions in their catalog. It’s a system-based estimate, not a reflection of how your product actually packs. Flexible or compressible items often trigger this because Amazon assumes the item keeps its full catalog size.

You can safely ignore the warning as long as your box is within Amazon’s weight and size limits. Many sellers submit shipments with this warning and Amazon accepts them without issue. Just make sure:

• The box isn’t overpacked to the point of damage

• Weight is correct

• Dimensions are accurate

• You enter the real quantity inside

If everything is accurate on your end, you can proceed. The warning is only informational, not a block.
