"bought in past month" metric on Amazon product catalogue

We have an asin which is currently showing 100 bought in past month on the product catalogue search, however it has sold over 400 orders (not units, which is higher again) in last 30 days and the same in the 30 days before that. Any idea why it isn’t updating?

I know it isn’t high on the list for something to focus on, but out of interest.

No, it’s not based on the past 30 calendar days. Rather the past calendar month I think.

The discrepancy you’re seeing is likely due to a lag in how Amazon updates the “100 bought in past month” data on the product catalog. This figure isn’t always real-time and may only update periodically, reflecting partial or outdated data. It’s also possible that the displayed number accounts for unique buyers rather than total orders, or there could be a system glitch causing the inconsistency.

I have been wondering about this for some time already as well. The numbers are completely different to how many orders were fulfilled. I believe that it’s correct that the counts relate to monthly stats rather than calendar month stats.

Yes it’s very weird. A competitor was on 300, then within a week we saw that drop to 200, then back to 300 then drop again to 200 which suggests it is updated fairly regularly. But who knows!
