As usual there are dozens of toys on deal for Black Friday week.
It is really interesting that at least 95% of them are from brands I have never heard of. Presumably direct from Chinese factories.
They are clearly struggling to get well known brands involved.
That is because they “rebrand” name brand stuff. Just got an item from amazon and the factory package was not the same model number or manufacture. It did match the photo. Sellers based out of China are allowed to operate like that. Sellers in the USA would get shut down.
As someone whose significant portion of inventory constitute cheap trinkets from China sold under a private label, I can confirm that it’s possible to offer 95% off.
Usually, in China you can get nearly anything for $1-3, when it comes to lightweight items under 500 grams. Put it into nice packaging and branding and you can sell it for $20 or even $50 on Amazon if you are alone (or first) in a niche.
As a buyer, I would never purchase these generic private label overpriced Alibaba items myself. I can immediately tell by looking on a product if it’s from Alibaba or not.
People are voting with their wallets and if they choose to shop for them, there will be only more coming.
