As many famous brands are becoming restricted on Amazon, what steps are you all taking to stay in the game?

Seems like Amazon is using 3rd party sellers for research then kicking them off when they want to be the only seller.

Amazon used to be a great platform for third-party sellers, but that’s slowly starting to phase out. Now, you constantly have to keep shifting to different products. Something you’ve sold for three years can eventually get blocked for everyone. There are over 100 million products on Amazon, so I don’t think everything will be blocked, but eventually, people will get fed up with this and move on to other platforms like Walmart.

I feel your pain but this is hardly news!

It is like this. Currently, resale or direct brand purchase will not exist on Amazon. Books, including some other things, must be approved and authorized by the brand before they can be sold. This will lose most of the products. Now it is not a problem of blocking, but directly failing to provide brand authorization. Then you will not stay on Amazon, and the store funds and goods will not be given to you. Currently, x platform is discussing this issue recently.

I heard that this week Amazon gated literally 90% of major brands which were popularly purchased by wholesale, online and retail arbitrate sellers. This includes LEGO, FUNKO, MARVEL, OLAY, MATTEL, REVLON or NARS. But there is an e-mail address you can contact to appeal: [email protected].

If this is true and happening in one market, it will slowly be implemented in all markets, just like Nike being gated everywhere! I sell LEGO, and now I think I’ll have to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Private label seems only way on Amazon.

Walmart may allow this time, but you never know when they too strike back.

So will all existing listings be pulled and our stock stranded?

It is useless to get rid of it. Even if you delete the link, you will still be asked to provide the LEGO authorization you sold before. Without your store, it will be gone. Currently, there are many such problems on x platform, including in the Amazon forum.

Yes, they will investigate, it’s just a matter of time. This is a very troublesome problem. It can only be the brand. If you have sold other brands, you can’t provide brand authorization, or even if you have it, it may not restore your account.

I was gated yesterday and was asked to sell out the same day. I called a health specialist, and she said I was gated due to product safety issues and that I could file an appeal. So, I believe categories like toys and makeup may have similar high requirements. Just some thoughts from my side. Try calling Amazon to ask if you can appeal. She also mentioned that not everyone will have the opportunity to appeal, but I did in my case.

To stay competitive as famous brands become restricted on Amazon, focus on diversifying your sales channels by leveraging platforms like Shopify, eBay, or Walmart Marketplace. Build a strong brand presence through social media, SEO, and email marketing to drive direct traffic to your website. Additionally, explore private labeling or sourcing alternative products, maintain excellent customer service to build loyalty, and stay compliant with Amazon’s policies to protect your account. dresstoImpress-codes
