I vaguely remember from the Amazon forum back in its time, there was talk of better days & times for better service.
I’ve just been on a time-wasting exchange with idiots, including in the escalation dept (can’t believe they even call themselves managers) - not reading or understanding my email, etc.
That’s as a buyer, not SS but no matter (Names are Ashish K, Devesh K, Joffin K A, etc… maybe there’s a time when all these K’s sleep?! …)
Haha all too true!..
By the way, in the US, are all Amazon call centres abroad nowadays, or may there still be some in the US too?
(Here in Europe they seem to be all gone abroad).
I apologize for the frustrating experience you’ve had. Indeed, it can be challenging dealing with customer service issues, especially when it feels like your concerns aren’t being adequately addressed. Regarding your question about optimal times for contacting support, while specific days and times can vary, it’s generally believed that early mornings on weekdays can result in quicker and more efficient service. This is because customer volumes tend to be lower. It might also help to reach out via different communication channels such as phone or live chat if you haven’t tried those already.
Thanks for your reply Robert. You seem to be from Amazon? Can you tell me if there’s actually any point (and a best way) to report some really bad call centre staff? Would using the Bezos email address lead to anything?
(I actually used my seller account in this case as a buyer, and could argue that they give Amazon a bad name to customers, which affect all of us including third-party sellers like me).
Hi! No, I don’t work for Amazon. If you’re unhappy with a call center worker, it’s good to tell Amazon about it. You can use the email provided for complaints, or contact Amazon’s support through their website. This helps Amazon know about the problem and they can try to fix it. Reporting problems like this is important because it helps improve service for everyone, including sellers like you who use Amazon to sell products.
If you look at his various responses, it is clear that they are all extracted from ChatGPT with few modifications. ChatGPT is pretty good but like all tools, it needs use with care.
I believe that users should state the source of their answer if not theirs.
@Robert_Capla is my friend, he is madly into AI and Chat GPT. I am just teaching him how to sell on Amazon and invited him over to help with engagement on the forum
to answer your question, you would be surprised but there are so many kind and knowledgeable Amazon representatives. But you are right, somehow, you need to catch them at the best time.
I rarely contact Amazon’s Seller Support and usually, I will have the calls answered by these India based representatives who don’t even understand what I am asking them about.
However, the last time I called - it was a few weeks ago, I got connected to someone who must have been at a senior position. I called on very late Sunday evening (1am on Monday) to USA Amazon Seller Support. The person spoke fluent English with American accent. He was so nice, knowledgeable and helpful. He kept asking me what was my experience selling on Amazon like. He even complimented me about my country and as he was working on my matter, he was telling me about his travels around Europe. Then, he kept complimenting me about the products which I sell. He also told me he is a huge fan of the movies which merchandise I sell and informed me that he will be ordering from my store right away.
I would guesstimate 1/10 Amazon reps to be like this. You just need to keep trying during less busy periods.
